Hashrate
Hashrate is a measure of computational power in a blockchain network, particularly in proof-of-work (PoW) based networks like Bitcoin and Ethereum. It represents the number of hash calculations a miner or mining pool can perform per second. Hashrate is an essential metric for miners as it determines their chances of successfully mining a new block. A higher hashrate increases the probability of mining a block and earning the associated block rewards. Hashrate can also indicate the overall security and resilience of a blockchain network, as a higher hashrate makes it more difficult for malicious actors to carry out attacks.
